  • What is the application process for NYC-BPC Spring 2021?

 

All Teams who would like to compete must begin by completing the 2021 Student Application. Applications for NYC-BPC are due March 22, 2021

PLEASE NOTE WHEN APPLYING: For the New York City Regionals (NYC-BPC), you are not required to submit a slide deck or video in the application. 

 

  • Who is eligible to compete in the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC)?

 

Eligible applicants are any graduate, undergraduate, and/or community college students enrolled part- or full-time in accredited New York colleges and universities during the current academic year (2020 - 2021). Students who graduate during the Fall 2020 semester are eligible to compete in the competition during the Spring 2021 semester. Exchange students are also eligible.   • What are the additional training sessions?

Training #1 – NYC BPC Lean Bootcamp Program 

 

The Lean Bootcamp Program (LBC) covers Customer Discovery, the Business Model Canvas, specifically Value Propositions and Customer Segments, and Agile Development. Student teams of least one person are required to attend all scheduled workshop sessions. Student teams will be required to conduct a minimum of 20 customer interviews during the course. Student teams will receive exposure to the entrepreneurship process and gain a better understanding of their customers and the value delivered to them.

 

Cohort Meet and Greet – Monday, March 8th, 2021, 4:00 – 5:00 PM 

Kickoff Day 1 – Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, 1:00 – 5:00 PM 

Kickoff Day 2 – Friday, March 12th, 2021, 1:00 – 3:30 PM 

Mid-Session – Friday, March 19th, 2021, 1:00 – 3:30 PM 

LBC Program Finale – Friday, March 26th, 2021, 1:00 – 4:00 PM 

 

Training #2 – Supplementary Workshops

 

Two additional workshops are designed to help NYC-BPC Competition participants before creating their Final presentation for April 9, 2021. The first workshop will describe the Final slide deck requirements, with some additional training on terms. The second workshop will provide tips and training on delivering presentations (in particular, “Pitch Practice”), as well as best practices for creating videos.

  • I applied. How do I enroll in the optional training program offered by the NYC-BPC? 

 

After applying, you will receive an email within 3-5 days from the NYC-BPC Program Team with further details on enrolling. Additionally you may email ariella.trotsenko@cuny.edu or arber.ruci@cuny.edu to indicate your interest in participating. Please include “NYC-BPC” in your email subject line. Applicants may join only the program or only the workshop(s) or both.

 

  • I applied. I would like to only compete at the Regional Event on April 9, 2021.

 

The training is optional. You will receive an email from the NYC-BPC Program Team on March 22, 2021, the application deadline, with full details on the competition and Final Slide submission instructions.
